Contemporary manuscript copy, wanting the address, "To the Governour ...," of a letter informing the Council of Massachusetts Bay about commissioners the king proposes to send to New England. The commissioners being sent to New England were a manifestation of the re-establishment of royal authority in the colony. Cf. Documents relative to the colonial history of the state of New York.
